The question is “Are consumers and visitors aware that the San Diego Zoo has a major global initiative with over 100 researchers and scientists posted around the world to end extinction?” Copic says that while it is recognized that the San Diego Zoo is one of the top 3 Zoo’s in the world, the Zoo has failed to drive crucial awareness to these initiatives. Copic notes how this could elevate the Zoo’s mission even further and allow the Zoo to be part of an even larger global social media conversation around conservation and preventing extinction.
